Installation Nasties

1. Individual research and write, and provide illustrative stills for, a blog post article on controversial video installations of the late twentieth century. Your blog must focus on at least three artists and refer to others as appropriate.

Video installation is a contemporary art form that combines video technology with installation art, making use of all aspects of the surrounding environment to affect the audience. Video installation is ubiquitous and visible in a range of environments from galleries and museums to an expanded field that includes site specific work in urban or industrial landscapes. Popular formats include monitor work, projection, and performance etc. The video was disturbing some of us found it trouble to watch something turing into dead piece, but it really shows of art work how the object turned into old that been there for long.

Taylor Wood

Taylor wood created this art work of dead rabbit. The camera catches a dead rabbit sam taylor wood refreshes the traditional work of still life and tells story about the transient nature of life.

The camera catches a dead rabbit which is decomposing rapidly before our eyes, while the mellow peach beside it stays untouched all the time. In an odd, beautiful way it shows how fast a once living being can disappear without any possibility of changing it.

Taylor Wood manipulated the combination of creating a strategies to direct her views attention and receipt of the piece. using composition and lighting typical of fine art painting or photography.

Tony Oursler

Tony Oursler is an american multimedia and installation artist. He completed a BA in fine arts at the California institute for the arts. His art covers a range of mediums working with video, sculpture, installation, performance and painting.

Tony Oursler creates scenes of disfigured, immobile bodies sculpted from video projections of moving faces on their head. In some cases, Tony Oursler projects fragmented facial features onto walls and bulbous sculptures, creating fro face by using the projector, he often places decapitated heads in uncomfortable positions on the floor or installed alongside props as more faces projected onto the heads spew a narrative art making. The development of Tony Oursler is that he used objects for his art work to create faces by using projector it's a creative idea and the visual based of the lighting and placing the object in uncomfortable places.

Christian Marclay

The clock is an art installation by artist Christian Marclay. it is a looped 24 hours montage that functions as a clock. it's scenes are selected from cinema and television history with real time references to the time of the day. Christian Marclay work took about 2 years to create that must took him a lot time to spend on the project the 24 hours film.

It's impressive idea to create based on real time "The clock" Christian Marclay's 24 hours long video collage pulls together thousands of clips from movies throughout history, most of them showing a clock or watch displaying the same time at that very moment of the day in the world outside the video screen. In other words however if you're watching "The clock" at 11:15am you'll see a scene from a movie in which it's 11:15am. The clock' is constructed out of moments in cinema when time is expressed or when a character interacts with a clock, watch or just particular time of the day. Marclay has excerpted thousands of these fragments and edited them so that they flow in real time. While the clock examines how time, plot and duration are depicted in cinema, the video is also a working time piece. The audience can look at the work and use it to tell the time.

Evaluation

Taking on board other people opinions write an evaluation (1000 words) or give presentation critically evaluating your work.

The comment that i have being giving on my photographic was great, the way i manipulated the images for example the angles that i used to take my photography by demonstrating the landscape of the outdoor life and creating mood for the audience.

The lighting was really because the day i went out to shoot my photography was sunny, and that was great but my weakness on the project was that some of the photos that i have took were blurred..

I tried to consider movement objects e.g. birds, and also grass blowing by the wind but it appeared to be blur some of the object because of the lighting.
Certain of the images that i have taking were interesting, it shows the background objects and things happening in the background.

Weakness was blur objects i used adobe photoshop to work on some of the photos that i taken to make it stand out more clear smart filter and also auto tone tools for the object become more brightness and to adjustment some of the objects tone, adjust the exposure until the image appears to have the right brightness.

example of the images:

I have choose the landscape photography images because it will fit well to the magazine project.
I really was aiming for the smoke art photography because that would be an interesting project to work towards because it will create a mood and that would be creative. The smoke art was part of risk assessment because that can't be done in the stuido but vaper was an great idea to use without a risk or fire alarm.

Lighting graffiti was an idea for me to use for my final project but didn't really had an idea to use for my lighting graffiti, landscape was straight forward project to work towards either in a bad condition weather or good. I have never worked or taken landscape photography images before so i thought of taking images that can attract people and amaze them. The images could be used for phones or wallpapers background page that will inspire others of the beautiful nature around them.

Lighting techniques can be used for landscape during the night or the golden hours and an hour or so just before are the best times of the day for capturing beautiful landscape shots with spectacularly colourful skies. The best capturing is moody vibrant skies just as the sun rises or sets. My aim was to capture a wide angle objects with the widest length to show moving objects and background. My key for the project was to show all the objects in a widest angle and clear. I positioned myself in a spot in relation of the sun that ideas the eye into the image.

Create a mood board for your final photography project.

My final photography project i selected a Landscape photography, because landscape will fit well for my final project for the magazine.

Create a detailed mind map that shows at least 5 ideas for your final photography project.

Create a detailed mind map that shows at least 5 ideas for your final photography project.

1. The water drop fall through a small hole, then by getting a good capture the resulting the splash.

2. I thought of smoke photography to create shapes for combining a range of shapes of smoke shots into a new picture that could be used for art photography.

3. Landscape my idea for the landscape was to take few create images of building grass and tress.
Capturing the weather and the landscaping e.g. night time landscape and rainy weather, to create a mood for the audeince, landscape are also used for background images for phones and pc etc.

4. Car park abstract an outdoor photography project, textures, colours and shapes

5. Indoor splash shots by dropping the object into water and fire the shutter as it hits, to create a indoor splash shot by using flash to capture the water dripping down, the object will create a splash into the water.

Manipulated in Adobe photoshop.

Photoshop Image that has been manipulated.

Normal Image

Photoshop tools

I have used Smart filters blur Gallery to blur the background e.g. the grass and tree on the left side.
half of the image looks blur and the second half looks clear and normal. I mainly manipulated the blur on the image and adjusting the tone of the image to make it appear more of the brightness and darkness in the tree in the background. I used Image Auto tone to adjustment the tone of the image, for making the colour tonal and adjustment the image.

I dragged the exposure slider to the image for lighting. I adjust the exposure until the image appears to have the right brightness. I didn't really worry too much about overdoing the exposure as there was little risk of the tone to become more highlight detail clipping.

Traditional photographic processes

3. A blog post which explains the traditional photographic processes.

Tradition photograph is photographic processing or development is the chemical means by which photographic film or paper is treated after photographic exposure to produce a negative or positive image. photographic processing is transforms the latent images into a visible image, makes this permanent and renders it insensitive to light.

Negative:

Negative is an image, usually on a strip or sheet of transparent plastic film, in which the lightest areas of the photographed subject appear darkest and the darkest areas appear lightest.

This reversed order occurs because of the extremely light sensitive chemicals a camera film must use to capture an image quickly enough for ordinary picture taking, which are darkened, rather than bleached, by exposure to light and subsequent photographic processing.

Enlarger:

An enlarger is a specialised transparency projector used to produce photographic prints from film or glass negatives or from transparencies apparatus for enlarging or reducing the negatives or positive.

Developer:

In the processing of photographic films plates or papers the photographic developer is one or more chemicals that convert the latent image to a visible image.

Stop:

Stop is a chemical bath that is usually used in processing traditional black and white photographic films plates and paper used after the material has finished developing. The purpose of the stop is to halt the development of the film.

Fixer:
Photographic fixer is a mix of chemicals used in the final step in the photographic processing of film or paper. The fixer stabilises the image, removing the unexposed silver halide remaining on the photographic film or photographic.

Printing:

photographic printing is the process of producing a final image on paper for viewing, using chemically sensitized paper. The paper is exposed to a photographic negative and positive transparency. A digital image file projected using an enlarger or digital exposure until such as a lightjet printer.

My idea for my final photos was planning to take photos about sport, and how sport inspare teenagers . The hustle and the hard work they put in to it, but I didn't have time to take those photos. I didn't have enough time to come up with another idea because I wasn't really sure, so I decided to take photos of landscape nature. My Idea was to take a close-up photography to show the landscape and also to show it in details. Aiming for a great photos and background and develop my photography skills too. I thought about a landscape photos because people could use that as a background photo for iPhone. I wanted to do something different for my project come up with something way different, which it was landscape and nature living. I wanted to take my landscape photography to the next level by using a variety of advanced dodge and burn techniques to selectively lighten and darken areas. My creative work helped me to take those photos my aim was to take photos that will inspare others of how nature is a great place. My strength was the background some photos that I took were powerful and some didn't come the way it was planned, weakness is going to be some the photos I took wasn't in focus and it was kinda blurry. I haven't done my final pitch video but I had the ideas planned.

Using different lighting techniques

When you have good all round and even lighting you can play a bit with your exposure settings. We tried differing aperture settings to create dramatic depth of field variations. The evaluative setting is about how well exposed sunset or sunrise reflection with a slightly overexposed sun on the image.

How travel photographer make money?

Travel photographer make living by taking images and look for buyers that are interested that want them.

The more relevant question is how they find the buyers to buy they talent work?

The reason certain people love “travel photography” is that when we travel we see things we have never seen before. Everything around us we take and share it in the environment is new and fresh to our eyes, and it’s exciting. It gives us opportunity to see a world we have never seen before. That what makes the audience buy some of the talent work travel photographer took.

The purpose is to see the world in our unique way, and to show the world to people  in a way they have never seen it before.

Before photography was created, people already knew the principles of how it eventually got to work. They could process the image on the wall or piece of paper. However no printing was possible at the time as preserving light turned out to be a lot harder task than projecting it

The subject terminology for those two images shows the reflection of the two images. The photographer is trying to create mood by being creative using the terminology spacing, lighting,  the photographer used "long shot"

Analyze photo

Without shadows the object may appear flat. Light and shadows creates contras. The photographer is trying to create a mood to the audience however by showing the reflection of the sky, and the kid that is walking and you can see his shadow in the sand.

What is the purpose?

The purpose is the relation of landscape photography and the media industry can be as simple as showing the industry and the people the beauties of the world they can not see or may never see themselves. It shows angles and landscapes of all different kinds, and photography created scan be found anywhere. From books to magazines, in the press, to the local newspaper and advertising. It is not usually on its own in the media industry as it would typically have something a long side to interoperate it into what it is being used for.

Toni Frissell was an American photographer, known for her fashion photography, World War II photographs, and portraits of famous Americans and Europeans, children, and women from all walks of life

Frissell’s fashion photography work.

It captures both the surreal, dream like quality of her work as well as. In the background, there is a deep sea diver silently lurking in the midst of shadows, while in the foreground a beautiful girl hangs suspended.

Music has a great influence on fashion  both now and in the recent historical  times. Right now what we're seeing is a transition. The original hip-hop artists are getting older now Jay-Z's in his forties, so he can't necessarily dress the way he did when he was 18.

What does a Fashion Photographer do?

Fashion Photographers work in a studios and on location. Fashion Photographers often work within a team, which includes art directors, editors and other creative support staff. They need to understand each client's brand. for eye catching and lifestyle.

How fashion photographer make money?

if you work you can reach the top, the fees are high Fashion or Magazine Photographers, you could earn very a lot money.

57.1: Presentation: critically evaluate two different areas of photography Link: https://prezi.com/om1ceh_beop2/travel-photography/

Shallow depth of field & a large depth of field and panning images.

What is depth of field?
A camera can only focus its lens at a single point, but there will be an area that stretches in front of and behind this focus point that still appears sharp.
This zone is known as the depth of field. It’s not a fixed distance, it changes in size and can be described as either shallow where only a narrow zone appears sharp or deep where more of the picture appears sharp.

Depth of field

refers to the range of distance that appears acceptably sharp. It varies depending on camera type, aperture and focusing distance, although print size and viewing distance can also influence our perception of depth of field.

Produce a series of photographs of images inspired by an image that you love.

My cover photo that i choose was kid Cudi, i choose this picture because mainly because i'm inspired by him a lot his music and a lot of his work. I like black and white images however black and white shows peaceful it's like natural using them and putting your creativity into it makes it look better, using different images black and white. i choose black and white to make it modifying my aperture and creativity to make it look good.
