Installation Nasties

1. Individual research and write, and provide illustrative stills for, a blog post article on controversial video installations of the late twentieth century. Your blog must focus on at least three artists and refer to others as appropriate.

Video installation is a contemporary art form that combines video technology with installation art, making use of all aspects of the surrounding environment to affect the audience. Video installation is ubiquitous and visible in a range of environments from galleries and museums to an expanded field that includes site specific work in urban or industrial landscapes. Popular formats include monitor work, projection, and performance etc. The video was disturbing some of us found it trouble to watch something turing into dead piece, but it really shows of art work how the object turned into old that been there for long.

Taylor Wood

Taylor wood created this art work of dead rabbit. The camera catches a dead rabbit sam taylor wood refreshes the traditional work of still life and tells story about the transient nature of life.

The camera catches a dead rabbit which is decomposing rapidly before our eyes, while the mellow peach beside it stays untouched all the time. In an odd, beautiful way it shows how fast a once living being can disappear without any possibility of changing it.

Taylor Wood manipulated the combination of creating a strategies to direct her views attention and receipt of the piece. using composition and lighting typical of fine art painting or photography.

Tony Oursler

Tony Oursler is an american multimedia and installation artist. He completed a BA in fine arts at the California institute for the arts. His art covers a range of mediums working with video, sculpture, installation, performance and painting.

Tony Oursler creates scenes of disfigured, immobile bodies sculpted from video projections of moving faces on their head. In some cases, Tony Oursler projects fragmented facial features onto walls and bulbous sculptures, creating fro face by using the projector, he often places decapitated heads in uncomfortable positions on the floor or installed alongside props as more faces projected onto the heads spew a narrative art making. The development of Tony Oursler is that he used objects for his art work to create faces by using projector it's a creative idea and the visual based of the lighting and placing the object in uncomfortable places.

Christian Marclay

The clock is an art installation by artist Christian Marclay. it is a looped 24 hours montage that functions as a clock. it's scenes are selected from cinema and television history with real time references to the time of the day. Christian Marclay work took about 2 years to create that must took him a lot time to spend on the project the 24 hours film.

It's impressive idea to create based on real time "The clock" Christian Marclay's 24 hours long video collage pulls together thousands of clips from movies throughout history, most of them showing a clock or watch displaying the same time at that very moment of the day in the world outside the video screen. In other words however if you're watching "The clock" at 11:15am you'll see a scene from a movie in which it's 11:15am. The clock' is constructed out of moments in cinema when time is expressed or when a character interacts with a clock, watch or just particular time of the day. Marclay has excerpted thousands of these fragments and edited them so that they flow in real time. While the clock examines how time, plot and duration are depicted in cinema, the video is also a working time piece. The audience can look at the work and use it to tell the time.

Evaluation

Taking on board other people opinions write an evaluation (1000 words) or give presentation critically evaluating your work.

The comment that i have being giving on my photographic was great, the way i manipulated the images for example the angles that i used to take my photography by demonstrating the landscape of the outdoor life and creating mood for the audience.

The lighting was really because the day i went out to shoot my photography was sunny, and that was great but my weakness on the project was that some of the photos that i have took were blurred..

I tried to consider movement objects e.g. birds, and also grass blowing by the wind but it appeared to be blur some of the object because of the lighting.
Certain of the images that i have taking were interesting, it shows the background objects and things happening in the background.

Weakness was blur objects i used adobe photoshop to work on some of the photos that i taken to make it stand out more clear smart filter and also auto tone tools for the object become more brightness and to adjustment some of the objects tone, adjust the exposure until the image appears to have the right brightness.

example of the images:

I have choose the landscape photography images because it will fit well to the magazine project.
I really was aiming for the smoke art photography because that would be an interesting project to work towards because it will create a mood and that would be creative. The smoke art was part of risk assessment because that can't be done in the stuido but vaper was an great idea to use without a risk or fire alarm.

Lighting graffiti was an idea for me to use for my final project but didn't really had an idea to use for my lighting graffiti, landscape was straight forward project to work towards either in a bad condition weather or good. I have never worked or taken landscape photography images before so i thought of taking images that can attract people and amaze them. The images could be used for phones or wallpapers background page that will inspire others of the beautiful nature around them.

Lighting techniques can be used for landscape during the night or the golden hours and an hour or so just before are the best times of the day for capturing beautiful landscape shots with spectacularly colourful skies. The best capturing is moody vibrant skies just as the sun rises or sets. My aim was to capture a wide angle objects with the widest length to show moving objects and background. My key for the project was to show all the objects in a widest angle and clear. I positioned myself in a spot in relation of the sun that ideas the eye into the image.

Create a mood board for your final photography project.

My final photography project i selected a Landscape photography, because landscape will fit well for my final project for the magazine.

Create a detailed mind map that shows at least 5 ideas for your final photography project.

1. The water drop fall through a small hole, then by getting a good capture the resulting the splash.

2. I thought of smoke photography to create shapes for combining a range of shapes of smoke shots into a new picture that could be used for art photography.

3. Landscape my idea for the landscape was to take few create images of building grass and tress.
Capturing the weather and the landscaping e.g. night time landscape and rainy weather, to create a mood for the audeince, landscape are also used for background images for phones and pc etc.

4. Car park abstract an outdoor photography project, textures, colours and shapes

5. Indoor splash shots by dropping the object into water and fire the shutter as it hits, to create a indoor splash shot by using flash to capture the water dripping down, the object will create a splash into the water.
